The act of making textile art, for me, is sustenance for the soul. It is a language that is private while it speaks universally. Its meanings are layered with and colored by the individual experiences that we each bring to it and the shared experiences of the human condition.

Many of my art quilts pay homage to the miraculous beauty in the natural world and in the simple forms and associations of found objects. Repurposed fabrics are imbued with history and stories of their own along with discarded treasures once thought of as trash. Many of my pieces are interactive and invite you in to look deeper, explore, discover and adorn. To work on these textiles is a spiritual journey and the product is only the end result of an inward process and meditation. The creation of textile art is slow and takes time.

I invite you to look to the arts to heal, to bring out the best in us, to make connections with one another and to learn from and celebrate the many faces and feelings on this fragile planet that is home to all. Look. Listen to the visual messages. Let the art elicit and stimulate a gamut of emotions and memories. May it resonate with you.
